No Fines is a free tool that organizes public New York City compliance requirements in plain English so homeowners and small landlords can see what applies to their building, with deadlines and links to the official agency pages.

What No Fines is not

Compliance rules change, and your specific situation may differ from the general case. Always confirm the details with the relevant agency before you rely on them or before a deadline. You are responsible for your building's compliance.

Accuracy and no guarantee

We work hard to keep the requirements current and to link every rule to its official source, and the rules are reviewed on a regular schedule. Even so, we cannot promise the information is complete, current, or error-free for your specific property. The tool is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, No Fines is not liable for any fines, penalties, losses, or damages arising from your use of the site or from relying on its information.

Using the site

You agree to use No Fines for its intended purpose and not to misuse it. That means no attempting to break, overload, scrape at scale, or interfere with the site, no using it to break the law, and no copying the site to pass it off as your own. The free checklist is free, and we intend to keep the free checklist free. Paid features may be offered in the future under separate terms shown at that time.

If you send us a suggestion or other feedback, you allow us to use it to improve No Fines. Your building answers and checklist stay in your own browser, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law
